SOUND TRADITION

Sound Tradition is a three piece, mostly a cappella folk group who enjoy singing traditional folk music in harmony. They currently live the East Anglia area, namely West Suffolk and Cambridgeshire but all three have previously lived abroad for some time. The band is influenced by the singing of Peter Bellamy and The Young Tradition (spot the similar name!) and other prominent English folk artists such as The Watersons, Maddy Prior, and Tim Hart.
Their local folk club is The Milkmaid, which currently meets at the Constitutional Club in Bury St.Edmunds, where they have supported, among others, Last Night’s Fun and Kieran Halpin. They regularly appear here as well as Cambridge Folk Club and at other clubs and sessions in the area. Although they only formed at the beginning of 2006 Sound Tradition have already recorded a selection of their songs on a locally produced CD; they began recording their first studio album in January 2007.
