BERNARD HOSKIN

 

 

Bernard Hoskin is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based near Cambridge, England. He has been performing both solo and in various groups at folk clubs and festivals in England for fifteen years. His work has been influenced by a diverse range of artists including, Paul Simon, Bert Jansch, Marc Cohn, Shawn Colvin, Papa Wemba as well as English and Celtic traditional music. Primarily a guitarist, he also plays bass, keyboards and mandolin.

 

Since 2001 he has run the Acoustic Routes venue in Cambridge.

 

In May of 2006 an album of 16 new songs was released. Titled Notes in the Margin it features singer/songwriters Lisa Fitzgibbon and Liz Simcock on backing vocals and Papa Sam on djembe.

 

Bernard Hoskin continues to perform at venues across the country both as headliner in his own right and as an opening act. He has done support slots for people such as Bert Jansch, Martin Carthy, John Renbourn, Clive Gregson, Isaac Guillory, Phil Beer, Colvin Quarmby, The Bills, Decameron and the Amy Wadge Band.
